2000 Jobs Expected From $300m Office Building

The South Australian Government are eyeing off a massive $300 million office building investment, which is expected to support up to 2000 jobs during the COVID-19 recovery phase.

The building will house the South Australian Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure, who will act as an anchor tenant for the new location.

Cbus Property have been awarded the construction contract for the office building, located at 83 Pirie Street in Adelaide's CBD. CEO David Atkin has pointed to the importance of the project, saying the works come at an important time for the construction industry in South Australia.

“Building and construction will be the frontline of Australia’s economic recovery,” he said.

“Cbus has supported over 95,000 construction jobs through Cbus Property while delivering strong returns for our members.

“Cbus Super is in a strong liquidity position and we are determined to play our part in ensuring a strong pipeline of construction work to help secure the economic recovery.”
