Brought to you by the construction professionals who have 1.5 million ranks, across 108 machine classes, and 12,000 locations in Australia.
Why in God’s name would we share these secrets with you?
Well, for starters – no matter how good at SEO you get, you’ll never be as good as us! iSeekplant has 1.5 million ranks, across 108 machine classes, and 12,000 locations in Australia. So even if your site starts to rank in your local area, and across your machine classes, you still won’t touch the sides of our Google footprint.
But that said… our mission is to take the ‘whole construction industry online’ and to do that, we need to share our knowledge and educate the market as to why digital can be such a transformative tool for any business, particularly for plant hire. All boats float on a rising tide.
iSeekplant has been around for 6 years now, and in that space of time we’ve steamed ahead to have the highest domain authority (Google’s measure for site trust) of any of our competitors, and three times the traffic (you can compare our scores on SEMRush, Alexa and Ahrefs if you like).
Sharing the love with you means you’ll like us, then one day, you might be a customer (if you aren’t already).
The entire purpose of Google, which is fast becoming the most powerful, monolithic and political business in the world - is to generate advertising revenue from pay-per-click advertising (the 3-4 ranks at the top, bottom and side of every page). As such, ranking in the ‘free’ part (or organic rank) of the search results is getting harder and harder every day.
Believe it or not – most of the internet does not generate revenue from their web pages – they are built and run to cater to interest groups (like cat lovers and selling drugs). Google doesn’t care about that 70% because if people aren’t earning money from their website, they aren’t likely to pay for advertising.
Google only cares about us unlucky sods in the commercial internet – companies and businesses trying to make money. The company focuses entirely in algorithmic updates and changes to make it harder for us to make money without paying them.
Search engine optimisation – referred to as SEO – is the process of continually adapting content on your site so that it ranks in the free part of the search results.
If you understand Google’s motivation (i.e. to get you to pay them for traffic) – then you understand why SEO is an everyday challenge – and as Google gets better and better at reducing your chances of obtaining free traffic, you get more and more likely to pay them for it. But that said – SEO is some of the most valuable work you can do, because once you’ve tapped that free traffic source, it’s yours to maintain.
In our section of the commercial internet – plant hire – there are very few people doing SEO well and very few competitors. There is so much opportunity for people to succeed, and quickly – if you have a quality site and play by the rules. But you have to want it, and want to do the work (or, you can pay a specialist like iSeekplant to do the work for you). So, if you’re up for it – here are the rules:
