Eyre Infrastructure Project - Iron Road Construction Details
The scope of the projected works are to build a deep water port located at Cape Hardy and a rail connection between the port and the mine (totalling 148 km of standard gauge, heavy haul line). Once built, the infrastructure would be deemed "open access" for other miners and grain exporters in the region and the possibility exists for the new line to connect with the National Rail Network. The mine development progressing will dictate whether the rail and port projects proceed.
The South Australian Government has put its support behind the project.
