It seems like every other day an email hits my inbox about ANOTHER construction expo or event. Now I don't know about you, but I don't have time to be leaving work to go to all these events, so who does?!
There are two many of them
There are expos about digging, there are expos about not digging (non-destructive excavation), mining, construction, building, machinery, hire, pipelaying, technology, oil and gas, residential construction. Expos in the Surat Basin (why does a measly coal basin in Queensland get its own expo?), conferences in Gladstone, then you need to fly to events in Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Hamilton Island.
Throw a stone and you’ll hit three industry expos. Why are there so many? Why are new ones hitting the market when attendance and exhibitors are down, down and staying down? If there was just one, maybe, just maybe, I would support mild attendance. Actually, no, I take that back. Because there is just NO justification for paying $300 for a timewaster to walk past your stand, even if you only have to do it once per year.
