M1 Pacific Motorway: Eight Mile Plains to Daisy Hill Construction Details

By broadening a 8.5 km northbound segment of the motorway between Paradise Road (at Daisy Hill) and the Gateway Motorway (at Eight Mile Plains), greater road capacity will be provided. In addition to this, Southbound capacity improvements will be made between Fitzgerald Avenue and Rochedale Road (in Springwood). Busways will also receive upgrades via an extension of the South East busway from Springwood Bus Station to the Eight Mile Plains Busway Station.

As part of the works, a new Busway Station would be built at Rochedale, including park 'n' ride facilities. These improvements are projected to alleviate congestion for northbound travellers for the next 15 to 20 years and accommodate an increase of 25% in traffic demands. The project has strong viability due to the positive impact it has on travel between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in this section of the National Land Transport Network.
