How to install Gofer as a web app on your phone or desktop

If you've been using Gofer, you might not realise there's a faster, smarter way to access it every day. Gofer is available as a progressive web app (PWA), which means you can install it directly onto your phone's home screen or your desktop taskbar, just like a native app, without visiting the App Store or Google Play.

Here's how to get it set up on any device.

Installing Gofer on iPhone (Safari)

Apple devices require Safari to install a PWA. If you're using Chrome on iPhone, switch to Safari first.

1. Open Safari and navigate to gofer.tech
2. Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the square with an arrow pointing upward)
3. Scroll down the share sheet and tap "Add to Home Screen"
4. Give it a name (or leave it as "Gofer") and tap "Add" in the top-right corner
5. The Gofer tile will appear on your home screen

Installing Gofer on Android (Chrome)

1. Open Chrome and go to gofer.tech
2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner
3. Tap "Add to Home screen" or "Install app" (wording may vary by device)
4. Confirm by tapping "Add" or "Install"
5. The Gofer icon will appear on your home screen like any other app

Installing Gofer on a Windows desktop (Chrome or Edge)

1. Open Chrome or Microsoft Edge and head to gofer.tech
2. Look for the install icon in the address bar — it looks like a small computer screen with a download arrow (Chrome) or a "+" icon (Edge)
3. Click it and select "Install"
4. Gofer will open in its own window and a shortcut will be pinned to your taskbar and desktop

You can also access this via the browser menu: in Chrome, go to Menu > Save and Share > Install page as app.

In Edge, go to Menu > Apps > Install this site as an app.

Installing Gofer on a Mac (Chrome or Safari)

Using Chrome:

1. Visit gofer.tech in Chrome
2. Click the install icon in the address bar or go to Menu > Save and Share > Install page as app
3. Click "Install" in the dialogue box
4. Gofer will launch in its own window and appear in your Applications folder and Dock

Using Safari (macOS Sonoma and later):

1. Visit gofer.tech in Safari
2. Click File in the menu bar, then select "Add to Dock"
3. Confirm the name and click "Add"
4. Gofer will appear in your Dock and launch as a standalone app
