$362m Chevron Tower Begins Construction, 1,200 Jobs To Come

The new Chevron tower has commenced construction in Western Australia, with the works expected to boost jobs in the state.

Multiplex and Brookfield Properties have partnered to build the new 29-storey tower. Chevron’s Australia headquarters will be constructed at One The Esplanade in Elizabeth Quay, with the $362 million project expected to support up to 1,200 jobs during its development and construction.

The building will provide 57,000 sqm of office and retail space while providing housing for around 3,000 people. The latest addition to Brookfield’s suite of investment properties, the works are designed to bring more life into Perth’s CBD.

Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan has stated that the government is committed to making Elizabeth Quay as “self-sustainable as possible,” with a large permanent workforce located in the building.

"The new 29-storey tower will add to Perth's skyline bringing with it more optimism to the property development sector. The build will create thousands of jobs during construction and cement Brookfield and Chevron's long-term position in Perth,” he said.

"Key infrastructure projects like these signify long-term investment in Western Australia; they help drive growth, create jobs, draw more people into our city and boost our economy. It has been made possible through the successful collaboration of Brookfield, Chevron, Multiplex and the State Government.

"Creating jobs for Western Australians is my priority. I'm pleased to mark the construction of this job-creating development which will be here for many generations to come. This is a significant long-term investment into Perth and I would like to acknowledge celebrated builder Multiplex and developer Brookfield in working with Chevron to realise this major project.

"The new headquarters is a sign of Chevron's commitment to WA and strengthens WA's position as a global energy hub leader."
